Why did Nixon resign?if you don't know don't answer p;lease?

Nixon was one of our great presidents. He resigned for the good of the country. He thought of his country first and not himself. Watergate just dragged on and on for a long time. He was about to be impeached and did not want to put the country through that as well as all the scandal. Nixon loved this country and put it first. He was a very popular president and wanted to do the job that the American people elected him to do. He was a very professional president. He also had a very bad economic mess but handled it quite well. I remember his wage and price freeze. It did work. He was a good president. I wish we had someone like him in there now. The one we have now is not my idea of a president. He is very smart and a great speaker with his telepromter but he is not presidential material. This is my opinion and it won't change.
