Why are High School Proms run the way they are?

Prom these days = disaster. Prom is considered the conception day now. Ever heard of the prom night dumpster baby song? It's just relating to how many things go on during and after the prom. During, you get your bf/gf horny, then after, you go bang the living daylights out of him/her. That's how it goes these days. Sad, but true. I went to one with a girl my freshmen year, (I'm a senior now) and we went out for dinner at a fancy place before, and it was a blast! I don't know why it's not like that anymore.
