Hotel Manager or Photojournalist?

I know a person who is a successful surgeon but an avid photographer. I would say keep both interests in tact. and think what can be beneficial in the future. for what i've heard, photography is a very expensive career or hobby. the doctor i know can pay for all his photography needs like lenses flash and other expensive equipments given that he's a doctor. so maybe that can help. maybe being a manager can help pay for photography.
