Gta sa xbox 360 controller help?

On San Andreas for PC I plug in my Xbox 360 controller (which works with it), it won't recognise the right thumbstick or the triggers even in set controls menu (the windows pc controller tester recognises them though), so to move the camera around I have to use the keyboard which is no good to me, & to accelerate & brake I have to use the shoulder ons, which don't have the control of the triggers, I used to have it on xbox1 so I would like to configure the controls to be the same, but san andreas on pc won't recognise the entire controller, is there a way to get it to work?
